I Can’t Sponsor A Single Person. 3 Simple Rules To Follow/Part 3
Here is the final installment and probably the greatest determining factor when learning to sponsor new reps into your business. The word ACT is the a great root to follow. It makes up many other words. Active, Action, and lastly Activity. This is where we step out of the thinking stage of our business and move(literally)into the doing stage.
Like anything, a snowball effect is created when we begin to invest in the actions that will either propel us forward, or invariably construct out ruin.
I am currently reading a wonderful book called The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. Darren is the publisher of Success Magazine and is a what I would call an achievement coach. I do not receive any moneys from the promotion of this book, but I feel it is a wonderful resource that can help identify what our sticking points are in the pursuit of our own success.
The Right Activity
So much time tends to be wasted when you decide to embark on building your own business. Before you had a boss setting your schedule, and now you are literally the captain of your own ship. Trouble is, the wind tends to blow different directions every day and we can become victims to it.
There are certain activities that can help build up the leader in you.
1. Start your day reading 15 min. of something life affirming
You can either have bacon and eggs for breakfast every day, or you can have high fiber cereal with fruit. You decide which is better for you. The same goes for how you will deal with a “no” or a “yes.” If you are in a balanced place from the beginning of your day, you are more likely to create activities that will feed your productivity instead of your procrastination. Write an affirmation and put it in present tense. When you see it, you will become it.
2. Make prospecting calls
Believe it or not, I hate it as much as anyone, and I love to talk to people. The difference is that we must go through the little fire of anticipation to come out the other side. Here is a little tip. As much as you feel you will perish from this process, you won’t. I have made countless calls to prospects and team members and found like the old riding the bike adage purveys, it gets easier. The 300 pound gorilla is the greatest killer of your financial freedom. Even though I love the internet for being able to reach out to hundreds of thousands of people. It can become a crutch for us all.
If you have leads that you know are waiting for your call, or even if they aren’t, connect with them. Get in, dare I say it, a conversation! The worst thing that could happen is they hang up in 10 seconds. That is one less person on your list that wasn’t interested in changing their life you didn’t have to deal with. Believe me, as an actor the greatest gift I have is that I will repeat something so many times until it feels natural. You will always improve at something, the more you do it.
3. Get out of the house
If you want to be a networker, go out and network. Be in the midst of people. I’m not saying that you tackle people in malls, but the whole point to our business is to get out from behind the desk! You can do this business from anywhere! I love David Wood. He does half his webinars from the porch of his Costa Rican house. I am of the mind that in order to change your perspective, change your geography.
You can also connect with a team member. Someone brought you in. I’m sure there are certain initial or ongoing tasks that can be tackled. If you do them together, you get to go to lunch! And lunch time is ANYTIME and ANYWHERE you want it be.
Thanks for following through with this trilogy. I have a tendency to write more than less. I hope that this these tips proved helpful.
If you found value in any of these blogs, please re-post, tweet, digg, stumble, or anything else that gets it out there. Leave your websites so that I can visit and share comments with everyone as well.
Remember, every day is an opportunity to growth, hope, and change.
Choice is something can ignite fire or flame out. Choose what your direction is.
And stick to it.

I Can’t Sponsor A Single Person! 3 Simple Rules Part 2
Good Day All!
This is the second installment of this blog. Today we will address the most common pitfall of all the prospecting traps. It’s the marriage of enthusiasm and immediacy when we get involved with a new opportunity or been in one for an extended period of time.
I’ll call it Wrestle and Puke.
Not the greatest title I know, but this is the exact picture in your prospects mind as they are going through the process with you.
But read on……. Read the rest of this entry »

I Can’t Sponsor a Single Person! 3 Rules You Should follow
I want to start this blog out today by stating a truth about every great leader in ANY industry. Whether it’s business, sports, entertainment, what have you, the ones that rose to the top faced the same trials and challenges as you may be facing right now. For the sake of remaining true to this particular blog, I will keep my focus on the network marketing industry.
I recently had the good fortune to spend some great quality time with one of my partners and friends in my primary opportunity, Master trainer Ray Higdon.
I encourage each and every one of you to not be afraid to interview your leaders and ask them to speak candidly on what you feel is your greatest struggle. They are actually willing to help and support you. Don’t try to be superman or superwoman. Few were born to network marketing and even those who are adept at it, go through the trenches each day as you do. The only difference is they learned to bring the right tools in with them.
I found out some very interesting information after our conversation. Did you know that there are days that the absolute beasts in network marketing, like Ray don’t get responses from people that they themselves have personally spoken to?
Whoa! Hold the phone here!
Are you friggin telling me that they don’t just have the “magic formula” for signing up people?
That’s right. I asked him some fairly pointed questions regarding his journey to becoming the top earner in Numis Network. Ray shared many poignant insights, and since I am a better listener than a note taker, this will be the recounting the top 3 things over the course of the next 3 days that will change your sign up rate. Is Being A Go Getter Getting You Where You Want To Go?
Ever tried to be an Army of one? I do it every day. It must be that hunter gatherer thing in me as a man. I used to thrive on the sense of accomplishment that I would feel by completing a task or tasks that I set out to do. That’s my friggin Italian work ethic working overtime in me.
I am always up for a challenge. I actually thrive on seeing my accomplishment. The trouble with this is, in order to get to that vision takes a lot of work. Now, I’m all for hard work. But, at the end of the day even I know that my own efforts can’t possibly produce the kind of productivity that many hands can do.
Sometimes, pride is a bitch! You may have done something yourself, but you’re also standing alone.
I think the most triumphant moments I have ever had in my team was when I saw a team member reach their goals. Most of the time, it came from them humbling themselves to ask for help.
I’m sure there are some folks out there that are feeling the shame of how their pride turned on them. You don’t want to reach out and ask for guidance. You have always been someone who has succeeded on your own efforts, but your not and you’re afraid to let anyone know that you need a push or a road map. So, you do nothing. And quit.
I’m gonna tell you, that is a death that just has different stages.
The ability to start from scratch every day is all it takes. You may feel that, as my son says, “I know” but if you don’t? Don’t do the whole “fake it till you make it” approach. Believe me, as an actor people smell BS coming from a mile away. And if you are carrying that stench on you, you will most assuredly lose whatever credibility you THINK you have FAST.
We are all on a learning curve of one kind or another. The top earners in your company know that. They maybe just aren’t sharing it with you.
Maybe because, you never asked……
and if you did and nobody is listening…….be your army of one and seek out the answers elsewhere. I always make sure that leaders from any company or business have resources available to them if they should so desire. So, pick and choose from the buffet. Or if you have the inkling to step outside yourself and into the power and synergy of a group of motivated like minded peeps…..We’re Here
Just because you’re a leader doesn’t mean nobody is in front of you. My business partner Ray Higdon puts it very plainly.

Sometimes Going Down With The Ship Doesn’t Make Sense
Coming to you from beautiful downtown Tampa, and dang is it hot! And the weather is pretty steamy too!
I came here because as an entrepreneur, business owner and marketer, I felt like I owed it to myself to be surrounded with the new leaders that are finding HUGE success in the network marketing industry. Building a business of any kind is always a difficult undertaking. Dependant upon what type of business you are starting will be able to give you a vision on how great the potential can be.
One of our fellow Dream Teamers, John Adams (johnadamsglobal.com) wrote a great blog on which business is right for you. If you have come to this blog, I can only imagine that you have been in the same state of affairs at one time.
Me, I came into this industry as green as anyone. I had the same friends tell me no, and make fun of me. I sacrificed time and money for the hotel meetings, endless tools, and training weekends. We all have to invest in the ride we take in our industry, but how do you know if the ride is over?
I remember a phrase that I heard spoken a lot when I was growing up. “The early bird gets the worm!”
I’m not sure exactly how that phrase became so popular. I imagine it had to be sometime around the great depression. I know when I have been between jobs that rising early was something that happened because I knew if I didn’t, I would find myself still in my pajamas at 4 in the afternoon discussing who the guest on Oprah would be.
I think we are in the midst of the same state of fear within our current economy. Now, I can’t site stats or percentages of the population that are experiencing this, nor am I going to get into some geo political tirade about who’s in office and whether they or constituents have the country’s best interest at heart. I’m not that guy. If I wanted to be a financial analyst, I would have studied in school. What I can tell you is that each person I meet shares the same common lament. “I can’t wait for the economy to turn around,” or better yet, “when is the economy going to turn around?” We are all WAITING for something to happen.
