I want to start this blog out today by stating a truth about every great leader in ANY industry.  Whether it’s business, sports, entertainment, what have you, the ones that rose to the top faced the same trials and challenges as you may be facing right now.  For the sake of remaining true to this particular blog, I will keep my focus on the network marketing industry.

I recently had the good fortune to spend some great quality time with one of my partners and friends in my primary opportunity, Master trainer Ray Higdon.

I encourage each and every one of you to not be afraid to interview your leaders and ask them to speak candidly on what you feel is your greatest struggle.  They are actually willing to help and support you.  Don’t try to be superman or superwoman.  Few were born to network marketing and even those who are adept at it, go through the trenches each day as you do.  The only difference is they learned to bring the right tools in with them.

I found out some very interesting information after our conversation.  Did you know that there are days that the absolute beasts in network marketing, like Ray don’t get responses from people that they themselves have personally spoken to?

That’s right. I asked him some fairly pointed questions regarding his journey to becoming the top earner in Numis Network.  Ray shared many poignant insights, and since I am a better listener than a note taker, this will be the recounting the top 3 things over the course of the next 3 days that will change your sign up rate.

Build Your Relationships Before You Build Your Business

We’ve heard this over and over again.  The second the word business comes out of anyone’s mouth, it carries a connotation of manipulation, money, sales, scam, and the list goes ohttp://www.womansday.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/images/media/galleries-slideshows/10-ways-to-become-indispensable-at-work/build-internal-relationships/37298-1-eng-US/Build-internal-relationships_slideshow_image.jpgn.  For some strange reason, people seem to think that when they start an independent business with a network marketing company as their vehicle, that there the company, the comp plan, the founders, the product and the team will be their ticket to financial freedom.  Not so.  It is important, obviously to become well informed and well versed in all of those factors.  However, the most important factor of a thriving and more importantly, sustainable business is the relationship you develop with the person you are prospecting.  We get very caught up in the numbers game.  Gotta go through so many people to get to the ones who wish to get in.  Right?  I heard it all the time from my leaders in my previous opportunity.

The distinction is not to go through numbers of people, OR build the relationship with your prospect.  It’s that as you are going through your leads (from wherever you obtained them) you must find a point of connection with them in an organic non aggressive way.   People smell B.S. a mile away.  There are many personality types and you will learn as you progress in your business that it definitely, “takes all kinds” in this business.  The truth is you are looking for people that you can connect with on their level and yours.   Remember, this is a people connection business.  When we become great connectors, we are ALL rewarded immeasurably.
