What Are Your Choices Doing For You?
My partner John Adams and I were recently completely blown away by the simplicity of a book(if you know me that says something)about keeping things small and simple in order to achieve great results.
The book is Darren Hardy’s “The Compound Effect”
We thought that with so much information out there that is FOR SALE, that we would gather together some of the biggest, brightest, and successful entrepreneurs in the industry today for a unique opportunity to do what so many entrepreneurs fail to do, and that is EDUCATE.
I, like so many of my business partners have been a great vessel and conduit for what I feel is the best information out there that places benefit in front of people.
We wish to be very clear.
WE ARE NOT PITCHING YOU OUR BUSINESSES!
YOU WILL NEVER HEAR ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITIES!
We DO wish to grow a group of fellow entrepreneurs that are looking to spread the word to others that,
“YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE!”
This is our second installment of our continuing series on Darren Hardy’s “The Compound Effect”
In this edition, we focus on choices. How they can effect us positively or negatively.
We’ll be buttoning it with an addition by Network Marketing Leader Christopher Piraldi.

You Can't Or You Won't?
Riddle me this?
What is the single greatest asset and tool we have as entrepreneurs?
Is it our ability to talk someone’s ear off? Or maybe it’s how we try to repeatedly jam our business down the same people’s throat time and time again because we have been told somewhere along the way that it isn’t the right “time” for them.
I’m gonna tell you something. I have prospected A LOT of people, and MOST of them will never be on that clock. Someone pulled the pin out of their watch and they are locked in employee land!
So, I gotta tell you all a secret.
Are you ready?
I was terrified to talk to leads and prospects on the phone!
Are you @#$%^&*ing kidding me Rick?!
Yep! I am officially outing myself. I was hiding behind my chicken list, my email, my hope that people would start contacting me off facebook and I would “never have to call a single lead.”
Well, I found out something real quick(or in a few months).
If you are going to make a mark in this business you have to make breakthroughs. And the way you make breakthroughs is to face what you are most afraid of.
The great thing is YOU get to decide whether or not you want to.
All I know is that I was playing it safe. All the talk of posturing, and attraction, and everything that I had been studying was keeping me from doing the ONE thing and the ONLY thing that matters in our businesses.
Connecting with people on the phone!
I know it sounds like a simple, “Duh, Rick I knew that” moment, but until I actually truly, honestly examined what I was doing(or not doing)to grow my business, I was able to put a plan into action.
So, what was keeping me from calling people that I PAID to have on a list?
It was the same thing that every major producer in the industry would say. I didn’t know what to say to them.
Now, I gotta tell you, this is most embarrassing for me being an actor in the entertainment industry for 25+ years, but for me I was more worried about how MUCH I would say.
Are there certain buttons and key things to say to a prospect in order to get them to give you permission to even say anything about what you have to offer them? Uh, yeah.
And I’ll give you a little clue.
1. It aint all about you
2. Know who you’re dealing with before you move forward
3. Don’t every pitch them your opporutnity on an initial call.
4. Use the tools you have to do the “talking” for you.
5. Don’t try to close them just because they didn’t hang up on you. You might be someone they wish they could be, but won’t.
There are all types out there. We hear over and over again that the people you are supposed to have in your business will come. That is the greatest part about this business.
But remember, they won’t come just because you WILL them to come.
You gotta go connect with them and see if they are willing and “open” to taking the ride with you.
I am a big promoter of Todd Falcone and his products. I can honestly say his methods and courses are responsible for my business taking a huge turn.

I'm Overwhelmed By ALL The Programs
I get it. Believe me!
As network marketers, half of our day is usually taken up with learning the newest and most effective strategy that will TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
I would have put a reverb sound effect in if I could, but then that would have been another seminar that I would have had to invest in.
Let’s be honest. We all want things easy, but we also know that nothing is accomplished without effort on our part. The tool is not ever going to replace who YOU are and can become if you set your mind to it.
One of my business partners, Ray Higdon, gave me the best piece of advice once. He said I should be spending no more than 25% of my time online.
I am the overachiever. I am also the guy who wants to find ways to maximize my time.
I have spent A LOT of money of different programs because the “sales pitch” identified my problem, then offered their product as the solution.
Be careful that you don’t fall victim to a good copywriter.
It’s how sales tools business are born!
I realize we must take the take to learn skills along our journey. And there ARE good, simple systems that will help you with that. But if it takes you away from the path of your goal then it becomes counter productive.
The point being is
Take
Your
Time
That doesn’t mean to not do anything, but know that you should take things one step at a time.
We are all part timers for the most part.
Very few have become full timers without first taking the small steps needed to reach the upper ranks of the industry.
The tride and true methods of prospecting and connecting still have validity in the modern technological world.
Here is a great tip for utilizing facebook that will take you 5 minutes to get started.
AND IT’S FREE!
Enjoy!
Rick

Less Can Be More. But Nothing Is Still Nothing.
I started to take a look at my own schedule of events this past week.
And I’ll tell you the truth, I almost fainted.
I have so many different projects I am working on that I thought, “Am I crazy?”
The truth is we all have something going on every day.
The difference is whether or not what you have going on will always be something that “consumes” your time, or is it something that is only for a season.
If you’re like me, when you see opportunity in front of you, you snatch it up right away.
The problem sometimes is we get involved (which is a plus being a first mover) with an opportunity, but then we put the plan on the back burner.
The biggest mistakes I see made with most people are:
1. They get in and look for the exact “right time” to begin sharing the great find that caught their attention.
2. They always feel like they have to “know everything” first before they go forward.
3. They get in, go full guns, talk to a bunch of people, but don’t put together a solid plan of action. Many times the people they talk to are not really ones they qualified out (by sifting and sorting their list). They often don’t commit, are broke, or just plain are looking for something better and not willing to do something about it.
I will tell you that this, or ANY business is trial and error. What makes anyone think that this would be any different that if you were starting your own brick and mortar style business.
If it were that easy, I tell you, EVERYONE would be doing this and succeeding and we would hardly have any attrition in our businesses. The average retention rate by the way in most businesses is 18-23%. I currently have 100% in mine, but I have something really unique, but I digress. LOL!
I started to take a look at my own schedule of events this past week.
It’s tough sometimes to figure out who we are gonna be in this industry.
It’s important I think to remember that we are all different and unique in our development.
The key is to realize that we ARE developing.
If we weren’t, we wouldn’t be looking to enter into a network marketing opportunity.
Money drives many people. But I think what drives more people is what the money provides for them.
There are different levels of freedom in network marketing.
Each one involves a certain amount of commitment.
But once you figure out who you are in that equation, you can START to formulate that PLAN of ACTION.
I would like to offer you something to help open your vision for who you might be in this quest for your own wealth and prosperity.
Jim Rohn is considered be one of the most inspirational speakers of our time.
A contemporary of Zig Ziglar’s, Jim calls to mind the value of indentifying who you might be as an entrepreneur and what you are willing and capable of doing to become successful.
I am including an audio clip from I absolutely play over and over again. It truly helps me when I am identifying who I am sponsoring and who how I can best support them to allow us both to be successful.
Enjoy!

Rich People Suck! But Why?
They are the perfect bad guy!
They draw us towards them like flies to honey. Then, they wave all their good fortune in our faces and live the life we wish for but won’t bother to DO what they might have done to obtain it.
THEY FRIGGING SUCK!
How often have we all looked at someone who has what we want and scratched our heads in wonder as to HOW that person is so successful?
I think we would all be surprised to see how many times a day the little green eyed monster show’s up after swimming around in our subconscious.
If we have any measure of ambition, we always are looking to see where we can go NEXT. I myself know that over the years I would hate hearing, “I saw someone in this movie last night that looked just like you!” Usually it was either Tom Cruise or Rob Lowe or someone of that type and age.
I would kick around wondering how they got where they are and always grabbed a hold of the easiest answer. Read the rest of this entry »
